10 Vintage Quilt Patterns-Pieced and Applique

TEX113

A nice mixture of 10, vintage, pieced quilt patterns and applique quilt patterns.  C1940.  Some of these patterns are from The Grit newspaper.  People would see a pattern, order it and it came to them via the mail.  There are two applique patterns from McCalls including Dresdan Plate and Grandmother’s Fan.  There are two, handmade, cardboard, applique patterns; Sun Bonnet Sue and Butterfly.  Condition on all appears to be unused.   I have not checked to see if all pieces are included, but since they have not been used, everything should be there.

PRICE: $16.00

Large Lot of Vintage Quilting Templates

TEX111

This is a large amount of cardboard quilting templates and a few quilt patterns.  I believe they date from the 1930′s or 40′s.  Back then people used the cardboard from food boxes and household boxes to make their own quilting templates and quilt patterns.  some are crude, some are well made.  Definitely a piece of quilting history!  They are in used condition, some better than others!

Victorian Splash Guard, Redwork Embroidery, Children, Good Morning

TEX107

An early, flax linen splash guard.  These were put on the wall behind a wash stand to prevent the wall from being damaged by splashing water.  This piece is hand worked in turkey red embroidery.  The embroidery is well executed.  It measures 17 & ½” by  34 & 1/2”.  This is an early textile, hence the  coarse, flax linen; it is ecru in color.   The design shows a boy and girl meeting at the water well amongst flowers.  In writing is “Good Morning”.   Very  Victorian!  Condition is excellent for an  antique textile 100+ years.  There are 3  holes on the top and two on the bottom corners, where it was tacked up.  These are hardly noticeable.   Please see the  photo for how the edges were turned to the back and basted.  Roughly done, but like that for 100+ years,  so I left it original.  Any lines seen in the photo are from my camera.
