QT207
This is a lovely, vintage quilt, estimated date of 1935. It’s a “Hole in the Barn Door” pattern using period, depression era prints. It measures 76″ by 82″ and is shown on a queen bed. It is all cotton, with a white background on the front and an unbleached muslin back. The back is turned to the front to form the binding. It is machine pieced and is hand quilted at 5-7 stitches per inch. Faint pencil marks show in places. There is lots of the hand quilting, as seen in the photos. The quilt blocks are multi colored period prints. It’s a cheery quilt, perfect to brighten any room and ready to use.
Condition is excellent, as found. White/white and super clean. There may be a tiny spot or two, but I didn’t find any. There is some fading on part of the blue border. I’ve shown in the close-up photo where the quilting thread has turned blue in some areas. There is no evidence of bleeding on any of the quilt, though.
