Offering a fabulous, 19th century, turkey red children’s handkerchief.  UNUSED, with a penciled number on it.  This antique hanky has a period motif of 2 girls and a boy playing a game.  It reads, “Shut your eyes and open your mouth and see what the King will send you”.  I researched this quote and it comes originally from Aristophanes, a Greek poet, 448 BC!  The word King replaced Zeus.  In each corner there is a greyhound dog, horse, stag and steer.

All cotton, it measures 10 & 1/8″ by 11 & 1/8″.  Condition:  Unused, with light penciled numbers showing.  There are a few, light, age spots, which can be seen in the close ups.  I’ve shown a factory flaw in the fabric, too.  Excellent, red color!

Offering the sweetest pair of vintage pillow cases.  They are white, all cotton and are hand embroidered with a Southern Lady or Southern Belle.  Embellished with flowers in a rainbow of colors and a fancy edging that is hand crocheted using the pineapple design.  Look at the detail of the blue, “lace” gloves!  Each pillow case measures approximately 20 & 1/2″ by 34″.  The embroidered design measures a large 11″ by 10″.

These are in excellent, unused condition!  Any lines are from the camera!

Offering a vintage hanky.  It’s a 1953 calendar hanky.  It measures 12 & 3/4″ by 13 & 1/4″ and has a rolled hem.  It shows each month of the year and around the edge are pictures associated with each season.  Condition is excellent.

Some may be an inch or two larger or smaller…please ask if this is a concern.   This feedsack has a geometric design in colors of pink, white, gray and maroon.  Condition is excellent!

Offering a rare set of vintage, Days of the Week towels.  Rare because they are hand embroidered in a design that we don’t see that often- the Chinese man doing the chores of the week.  You can still find these, but commonly with an animal motif, sunbonnet sue or woman depicted doing the week’s work.

This is an entire set of 7 for each day of the week.  The towel is linen, green and ecru checked.  Each measures approximately 15 & 1/2″ (selvage to selvage) by 36″ long.  The embroidery is hand worked and there is a variety of stitches and colors…well executed.  Each towel shows the work of the day, such as sewing, laundry, ironing, etc.  Condition is excellent, unused.  There is a slight age browning in places on a couple of edges, totally insignificant.  Only mentioned for complete accuracy of condition. I just love these!

Offering antique bunting yardage…it measures 23″ wide, selvage to selvage and it is 7 yards, 14″ in length.  Red, white and blue cotton gauze.  The blue is very dark and has stars.  Condition is excellent, it was never used, just tucked away.  There are a few tiny marks, not many!

Offering a pair of vintage, wooden, children’s hangers.  Each measures 9″ by 2 & 1/2″, wood only.  Each pale pink painted hanger  has a painted head of the cutest little girl, wearing a period checked hat.  Classic 1930′s.  As found, the condition is average with normal wear and soil, along with a few knicks.  These are perfect for displaying a collection of vintage or antique children’s clothing.
