C. 1940 Pennsylvania Dresdan Plate quilt...measuring 74" by 88"...hand appliqued and machine pieced...hand quilted at 7-8 even stitches per inch, quite lovely...the border is done in the cable stitch and the body of the quilt is done in a diamond design...faint pencil marks that you have to search to find...the body is unbleached muslin, as is the back...the front border is turned to the back to form the binding...all cotton, period prints and solids were used...the quilt is thin, but the weight is on the heavy side. Shown on a full size bed. This quilter let her creative side shine when she made this piece. She made a typical Depression era quilt into a fancy work of art. Condition is excellent...slight fade on center triangle...the only issue I find is three, 2" lines of very light pink on the back that doesn’t show through to the front. You’ll really like this one!
